I don't know if you guys have read it before, but on Saturday I read the book Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser. Man was it scary! It talked about the beef industry a lot, and what those animals are fed! They are fed dead other animals and chicken shit, talk about gross! It really makes me take a serious look at whether or not to continue to eat beef (at least commercial beef) and what fast food restaurants to go to. Not only that, but their business practices of price fixing and union busting are crazy. I think that perhaps I will look into buying only local beef, and look into more humane (and not disgusting) sources!

i've been meaning to read that book, but honestly, i'm kind of scared to!
a good reference-type of book for when you have to eat out is "eat this, not that"...it has a bunch of national restaurants listed and what to order from them. some of the stuff was surprising!
