it's been a while!

so yeah, i've been kind of slacking in the blogging lately.

i've been keeping up my exercising 3-4 times a week and have been getting better at opting for healthier food when given a choice. (example: i judged a high school speech competition, and i had the option of a sub meal, pizza meal, or hot dog meal. i chose the sub - and didn't eat the chips that came with it!)

i'm SO excited that it's getting warm out!! i went for a power walk on the bike trail behind my apartment for about half an hour on sunday. it felt really good!

i haven't really been losing much weight...i'm at the lowest i've been in a while (probably when i started college 7 years ago...woah...it doesn't feel that long ago!), but i seem to have plateaued. part of me is like "well, i have more muscles now that i'm working out more...that is probably a factor" while the other part of me desparately wants to just lose one or two more pounds just so i can say i did.

do you guys have any suggestions on how to beat a plateau weight?

I guess I just haven't been thinking about weight, I just see myself getting more toned and that is worth it to me. Try changing up your workout routine, doing more bursts of speed for example on the elliptical, really max yourself out as long as you can.

yeah...i mean, size and health is more important to me than weight...it would just be nice to get over this hump.

i actually did recently start changing it up...i'm doing the new challenge at the gym which is a bingo board where you have to do various things (exercise and diet), which forces me out of my comfort zone. i have been doing more interval-type stuff on cardio machines, too...so hopefully all that will help!
