...and I'm addicted to food!!
Here's the deal: I like food way too much. Some call it emotional eating, others call it lack of willpower. I call it an addiction. Now, I know I shouldn't be throwing words like "addiction" around, and I've watched plenty of the Discovery channel's shows on food addiction. However, I think it best suits me.
Working out is coming easier and easier, especially since I now have buddies that I feel comfortable socializing with while working out. It feels like "me" time again.
So, how do I cut ties with the junk food? I have been eating healthier during the day, but at night with the bf, it's any one's guess what will enter my mouth. (last night it was Taco Bell!)
I'd love to hear how you guys are able to overcome urges to eat junk food. Keep in mind, I have to be in the right mood to cook, which is not often. I usually take dishes duty.

i think that it's good that you're getting into a comfortable workout routine.
i don't cook that much either (rarely have time or all the ingredients needed!), so i try to just have healthier snacks and food in the fridge. i haven't been great the last couple of days, either, though.
one thing i have to tell myself is "will i feel good after this?"...fast food really makes me feel gross after i eat it, so i make myself think about that beforehand. i DO like taco bell, though, and i think it's probably at least better for you than other fast food chains (especially since you're not having fries!)
i've found myself eating lean cuisines again...it's not the most exciting thing, but they actually have quite a few delicious ones, and if you don't feel full, have a side of fruit!
hope that helps, lisa!
Thanks for the suggestions, sistah!
I also realised yesterday that individually wrapped food (like stuffed chicken breasts, burritos, etc.) are better for portion control. Trying to do portion control by myself is not working. We had boxed mashed potatoes (Brian's pick), and I'm sure I had at least two servings, if not more! Yuck!
yeah, otherwise, i've heard that bagging your food up when you first get it helps. especially for snacking. you'll eat a lot less chips if they're in a small baggie rather than the large bag they come in!
I've gotten back on WW because I wasn't doing well on my own (15 pound regain in about a year--see what happens when you get into a great relationship!?). Somehow, having to account for those points keeps me from diving into the Girl Scout cookies in my desk drawer. I know it's a mind game, but for me, right now, it's a mind game that's working! When I did it before, I always tried to bring fruit along and make a salad to go with the Lean Cuisines because I was usually hungry quickly.
